My Winter Wedding

This past weekend was full of two things – weddings and winter weather. After a beautiful day on Friday, temps dropped and freezing rain replaced the sunshine. Pair that with photographing a wedding on Saturday and setting up our Social Graces booth at the local Bridal Expo and I have found myself dreaming of a winter wedding. My own wedding, 4 years ago, was in the fall. It was classic, black and white, and simple. I’m in more of a frilly mood lately, so, I thought it would be fun to create a collection of attire I would incorporate if I was planning a winter wedding now.

For me, a flowing gown with all the right accessories:bhldn wedding dressWindswept Gown, Bhldn

shoe:necklaceCloud Cover Peep Toe, Bhldn and Twin Bouquets Neckclace, Bhldn

For the bridesmaids, a mix of gray and deep yellow:

For my hubby, a slim-cut, wool suit paired with a pop of warm color:

For the kiddos, a nod towards the bride & groom’s attire:flower:ringGirls Lyla Dress and Boys’ Ludlow Suit, JCrew

How about you? Would your wedding change course if you were planning for a different season?

Trend: Cobalt Blue

Source.

Cobalt Blue is a huge trend in fall fashion right now. Accessories Magazine is says“designers add a splash of bold color to Fall’s palette with cobalt blue. This striking blue stands out against the typical neutral and jewel colors of fall. Universally flattering, cobalt blue is the perfect accent color, making it a great shade for accessories.”

So…why not incorporate that into your wedding? It’s a beautiful and bold pop of color. We love it as an accent color mixed with neutrals, yellows, pinks or greens (as seen above).

Need a little more inspiration? We especially love these bridesmaid dresses in Cobalt.  Source.

Real Wedding: Alli & Tyler

Alli’s big day happened last month and we are so excited to finally be sharing it with you! Alli has been planning her wedding throughout her internship at Social Graces and we were thrilled to be a part of this special time in her life. We absolutely loved all the details, colors and ideas she included in her day (especially her dress she designed with Felicita using lace from her mother’s dress and jewelry from her mother in law!). We were especially proud of her great & flexible attitude when the weather attempted to damper the day. As any good event planner knows, you often have to go with the flow. 🙂

Congrats Alli & Tyler! We are so happy for your guys (and very sad to see Alli’s internship end!).

Real Wedding: Julie & Tyler

We had such a great time helping Julie pull all the details of her wedding day together.  It turned out just perfect and we couldn’t be happier for the couple. With special help from some of our favorite vendors (like Oh Happy Day Rental of Felicita, Artistry in Bloom and Gracie’s Bridal) plus a few DIY projects that Julie and her family worked on, it was a show stopper.
