Vendor Spotlight: Tea Bar & Bites

2013-07-30_0001Today we want to give a little shout out to Tea Bar & Bites, one of our favorite bakeries, caterers and eating spots around. Its located in the Rountree Neighborhood of Springfield in a quaint little building. It’s definitely one of Springfield’s treasures!

We especially love to use their bakery for parties. Pictured is the festive way we incorporated their yummy treats into a recent graduation party.  We also love that our one and only Cynthia (from Cindy Rose Cakes) is now on the baking team at Tea Bar! So proud. 🙂

Real Wedding: Ligia & Carson

I’ve been a slacker lately on my photography blog, but yesterday I finally posted Ligia & Carson’s wedding that took place at The Loft at Keith Farms. This wedding was seriously so sweet that I couldn’t wait to another day to share it with our Social Graces readers.

If you are currently planning a barn wedding, this is the way to do it. Soft colors with natural elements. I loved that the girls wore different dresses in similar shades and the flowers were airy and understated. It all coordinated so well together. Props to Ligia! 🙂

Here are some of my favorite details of the day: To see more images of the happy couple, click here.

15265_10151315587112820_1057709260_nLaurissa & Matt are getting married this weekend at Integrity Hills and we can’t wait to see all the final details pull together. We’ve been working with Laurissa and her mom, Susan, for awhile now and we know this wedding is going to be just perfect!

We thought we would kick off their celebration by sharing their beautiful engagement session by Christian Gideon.

Congratulations, Laurissa & Matt! We are ready for this weekend!

Engagement: Rachel & TJ

One of my favorite things about Social Graces is when all the stars align and I get to photograph one of our couples.

Meet Rachel & TJ.

Becca has been working with Rachel to design and plan their Kansas City wedding in August. I had the privilege of meeting the lovely couple last week and capture a preview of their celebratory and travel-themed wedding. They are such a fantastic couple and it felt like we were all old friends by the end of the session. I am so excited about their big day!

Real Wedding: Sarah & George

S+G-226Although the local weather might not be indicating it (its sleeting and snowing as I type this!), we do promise that wedding season is practically here. That means sunshine and rainbows and unicorns, right? 🙂

Today I am sharing my first wedding of 2013 (Meg White Photography). I had never been to the Round Barn in Ash Grove, MO and it was beautiful. I can’t imagine what you could pull off there in the spring/summer/fall! Its a must-see if you are a Springfield-area bride in search of a location. Artistry in Bloom (one of Social Graces’ favorite florists) did the flowers. I especially loved the addition of blueberries. Such a unique touch. s+G-1S+G-82s+G-83S+G-87S+G-113S+G-128S+G-211S+G-296S+G-309

A Mustache Surprise

1 Our hearts always melt when we get a call from a guy that wants to surprise his wife with a birthday party. This one was no exception…however, it was a little trickier than normal. Our client’s wife, Morgan, was in charge of the venue where her party was held; the Dewey Visitor Center in Branson, MO! We put on our best game faces and pretended to be planning an engagement party. We did site visits, phone calls, emails and set up the entire party before Morgan’s very eyes. It was definitely the hardest surprise to pull off yet, but we think it went wonderfully. Morgan was shocked. Mission accomplished!

Her sweet hubby decided on a theme of “disguise” and we went to work. Famous Dave’s catered, we featured chocolate mustache lollipops, champagne and an array of mustache props from The Manic Moose etsy shop. They ate, danced and played birthday trivia. It was a great night. 5 6 8

Real Wedding: Scott and Andrea

0888_NasbyLast summer, one of our good friends from high school hired us to help with her wedding.  The ceremony, held at Drury’s Stone Chapel, was beautiful, the bride looked amazing and there was so much love in the air.

0053_Nasby0547_NasbyScott, the groom is the head baseball coach at a university here in town, and Andrea has loved the game for as long as I can remember, so naturally a baseball themed reception was only fitting. Their reception was held at Wellington Place.0881_Nasby0872_Nasby0894_Nasby1053_Nasby

Congratulations Scott and Andrea! We are so happy for you and wish you the best in your journey together.
