Zeda Girl turned 4 back in June and for some reason, her party planning mama decided she needed more then one party. She NEEDED it, right? Well, today I want to feature the first party of the weekend…an afternoon tea party. We had 6 of her closest girl friends along with their mama’s come over for lunch and activities.
Menu: Chicken salad sandwiches (the bread), green salad, blueberries, chips and guacamole, strawberry soup, and different flavors of tea to drink.
I thought I would make everything from scratch to make it more fun and delicious for the guests. Then my husband said, “honey, they are 3 and 4 years old, they don’t care.” My heart was a little crushed. He was right, they hardly ate a thing and all the hours I spent on the food was a bit wasted but oh well…I had fun…for the most part. 🙂
Remember the Petits Fours I was making? They didn’t turn out like the picture (see picture above) or the way I’d hoped but they tasted great. Other desserts included macaroons, assortment of cookies, these lovely sugar cubes and of course chocolate cake. Happy 4th Miss Z, you are such a big girl. Side note: I spent all my time in the kitchen and not enough time picking out a dress that fits or forcing her to let ME do her hair. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.
