DIY: Owl Shower Invites

I love paper invitations. I love sending mail. I love receiving mail. I think an invitation can set the tone for a whole party, shower or wedding. There are so many beautiful invitation companies out there right now. However, invitations can put a nice dent in a party budget. Sometimes thats hard for me to swallow since they are going to eventually end up in the recycling bin. So, recently I created a pretty inexpensive shower invite for my sister-in-law’s baby shower. For the cost, I was quite pleased with the results.

Let me break it down for you:

  • 50- 5×7 notecards/envelopes from Hobby Lobby – $9.99
  • Design – free
  • Printing – free (used home printer)
  • Yarn from Hobby Lobby – $4.99
  • Stamps – $22.50

Total cost: $37.48 or $0.74/invite

I simply printed the design until the notecards, tied the yarn around the top and was done!
