I came across these super cute cork coasters on the Heartmade Blog and thought I’d give it a whirl. It seemed easy enough, especially since I enlisted my husband to do the cutting.
Supplies you’ll need:
- at least 25 wine corks (you can buy these at Target)
- hot glue gun with glue sticks
- thin cork paper circles (you can buy these at Hobby Lobby)
- a pocket knife
- a cutting board coarse sand paper
First, cut all of your corks in half, long ways.
Next, glue the corks onto the coaster base until its completely covered.

Turn the coaster over and cut off the edges. Then sand around the edges to make a smooth line.
And, there you have it! A fun DIY project for your home or party. It could be a cute favor or gift as well.

Super cute idea and what a way to reuse your corks! Our kitchen drawer is full of corks, now I am going to put them to work & make some coasters! Thanks for the great idea!
I also saw another idea for corks – I am not sure as to what they adhered the corks to, but they stood the corks straight up onto a “heart” shape and hot glued them then hung the cork heart in the kitchen.
